Richard Hauge
I am Richard Hauge, married to Amy Lou, my bride of 54 years. Our interests are in nature and people. We’ve had an exciting odyssey these many years: College days, teaching days, Navy days, motel owner-operator days, ranching days, and most rewarding to me were my coaching days of Cross Country and Track—and having our daughters, Tena and Tara, on my team – both great athletes. Another joyous coaching time was my Girls’ Track team winning the Class A District Championship in 2004. That was when I was young and 73. We also have two boys: Pat and Mike. I was privileged for several years to work with them in the plumbing business. I graduated from South Dakota State College, with a Master’s Degree in English and Humanities and later hired on as Instructor of English there. My highest academic rank was Associate Professor of English and Humanities at El Camino College, California. I was appointed to the North Lake CLT in 2001. My favorite secular quotation is “He climbs highest who helps somebody up.” And I like best the Biblical thought that “Jesus loves me and all believers will have eternal life—If we have a pulse, we have a purpose to proclaim that.” What can wash my sins away “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus”, “Oh Precious is that flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know——NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.”
